JollyWorks, Ltd., was formed by Ann and Alan Box in the fall of 2004 as the first step in the development of a sincere Jolly Phonics training initiative in Western Canada. Each year they plan a number of workshops and, in addition, are always pleased to consider specific requests for workshops, seminar and conference presentations.

Ann Box

Ann has taught and administrated early childhood programs for thirty five years. She has used Jolly Phonics, a synthetic (systematic) phonics program, extensively with children aged 3 to 8 years old. Her results (consistent with those obtained by other Jolly Phonics practitioners around the World and supported by a number of independent research studies), are impressive. Ann continues to be delighted with the efficacy of the program. Jolly Phonics provides a firm foundation from which children learn to read, write and spell in a fast paced, fun and energizing environment. Accredited Jolly Phonics trainers are practicing teachers; many are parents themselves who became aware of the program because of their own children’s needs.

Alan Box

Alan is responsible for the day-to-day operation of JollyWorks. As a career educator, he is delighted to be involved with Ann in promoting synthetic phonics and the Jolly Phonics program.
