Jolly Phonics was developed by Sue Lloyd and Sara Wernham, primary school teachers who worked in the East Anglia area of the U.K. Sue used phonic methods for many years, developing and improving them from research, advice and the practical experience she and her colleagues have gained. Sara fell under the spell of phonics when she became Sue’s teaching partner. Together, they developed Jolly Phonics and Jolly Grammar into the comprehensive, easy-to-use and attractive programs they have become.
